At Pennywell Early Years Centre, we are lucky to be supported by a committed and passionate Governing Board who work alongside our staff and leadership team to ensure the very best for our children and families.
đź’ˇ What Do Governors Do?
Our governors play a key role in helping us provide high-quality education and care. They are volunteers who bring their time, experience, and knowledge to support the Centre’s continuous improvement.
Governors work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, offering support and challenge in equal measure. Their key responsibilities include:
- Helping to shape the strategic direction of the Centre
- Monitoring progress and performance to ensure all children thrive
- Making sure the Centre’s resources are well used and that we are meeting our safeguarding and statutory duties
- Representing the views of families, staff, and the local community
Ultimately, our Governing Board is here to make sure that Pennywell is the very best it can be, for every child, every day.

We are always looking for people who care deeply about early years education and want to make a difference. If you feel you have skills, experience or enthusiasm that could help us grow and improve, you might make a fantastic school governor.
You don’t need to be an expert in education – we welcome people from all walks of life, including parents, carers, and members of our local community. What matters most is your commitment, curiosity and desire to support our children’s success.
